Stay

What are your check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is from 3:00 PM and check-out is by 11:00 AM.
Can I check in early?
Depending on room cleaning status, we may be able to accommodate an earlier check-in.
Please contact us in advance.
Can I extend my check-out time?
We may be able to accommodate this depending on availability.
Please contact us via the in-house phone in the elevator hall, or speak directly with the front desk.

Can you store my luggage before check-in or after check-out?
We can store luggage from the day of your stay. After check-out, we will keep it until your departure that same day.
Can I be put on a waiting list for cancellations?
We are sorry, but we do not accept waiting lists for cancellations.
Do you accept credit cards?
We accept VISA, Mastercard, JCB, AMEX, Diners Club, and UnionPay.
Is there a curfew?
There is no curfew.

For security, the entrance automatic doors are locked at 2:00 AM.
If you return or arrive after 2:00 AM, please ring the intercom and our staff will assist you.
Can I use gift cards?
Gift cards cannot be used.
Travel vouchers issued by travel agencies are also not accepted.

Room

Can I use the internet in my room?
Yes, you can.
All rooms offer free Wi-Fi (wireless) for internet access.
Do the in-room TVs have HDMI ports?
Yes. All rooms' TVs are equipped with HDMI ports.
HDMI cables are not available for loan; please bring your own.
Can I watch BS broadcasts?
Yes. They are available free of charge in all rooms.
Are humidifiers available in the rooms?
All rooms are equipped with an air purifier with humidifier function.
(For hygiene reasons, the water tank is empty; please fill it yourself.)
Is there a refrigerator?
A quiet refrigerator is installed so you can rest comfortably.
The cooling temperature is designed to be milder than household use, so please use it for keeping items cool.
If you wish to refrigerate or freeze items, please bring them to the front desk for storage.

What types of pillows are available?
Two types of pillows are available: hard (firm) and soft.
Is there a women-only floor?
We are sorry, but we do not have a women-only floor.
Can two people stay in a single room?
Single rooms cannot accommodate two guests.
Please use a Double Room or Twin Room.
*Co-sleeping for preschool-age children is free of charge.

Yes. A coin laundry is available.

Is Wi-Fi available?
Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel.
Is there a public bath?
A public bath with sauna is located on 2F of the East Wing.

・Please bring towels and body towels from your room.
・You may use the bath in your samue (loungewear) and slippers.
・Your room key card is required for entry.

Japanese Spa

Is there a public bath? What are the hours?
A guests-only public bath with sauna is located on 2F of the East Wing.

Can non-guests use the public bath?
We are sorry, but only hotel guests may use it.
Can I use the public bath if I have tattoos?
We are sorry, but guests with tattoos are not permitted to use the public bath.
When is the public bath most crowded?
Crowding varies by season, but it tends to be busier between 19:00 and 21:00.
You can check the bath's current occupancy on your in-room TV.

May I walk to the public bath in samue (nightwear) and slippers?
You may walk to the public bath only in samue and slippers.
Please refrain from entering the 1F lobby (restaurant) in this attire.
Are towels provided at the public bath?
We are sorry, but towels are not provided at the public bath. Please bring the face towel and bath towel from your room.
Towel exchanges are available at the front desk.
What amenities are available at the public bath?
Shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cleansing (women), hair tonic (men), hair liquid (men), facial cleanser, lotion, milky lotion, cotton pads, cotton swabs, hairbrush, razor, and hair dryer are provided.

Breakfast

Do I need to reserve breakfast in advance?
No reservation is required. By paying the daily rate, you can enjoy the Japanese-Western buffet.

We can accommodate food allergies and other dietary restrictions, as well as your individual requests.
Please consult with us in advance, for example at the time of booking.

Service

Can I ship luggage to the hotel in advance?
We will hold any items shipped to us until your check-in.
Please note the following when shipping:
・ Address: "Hotel ElCient Kyoto Hachijoguchi, 13 Higashi-Kujo Higashisanno-cho, Minami-ku, Kyoto 601-8004"
・ Please be sure to include the "guest's full name (in furigana)" and "stay date".
・ Perishable items, fragile items, valuables, etc. cannot be accepted; please understand in advance.
・ We do not advance shipping fees, etc. Please refrain from sending COD (cash on delivery) or freight collect.
Can I ship luggage from the hotel?
You can ship via Sagawa Express between 8:30 AM and 11:30 AM.
Shipments are basically sent freight collect (recipient pays).
Is there a laundry service?
A same-day laundry service is available.
Please bring your laundry to the front desk by 10:00 AM. Items will be ready by 5:00 PM the same day.
Note: Service is not available on Sundays, public holidays, New Year period, and Obon period.
Is there a massage service?
Yes.

Recently, taxi reservations within Kyoto have become very crowded.
For this reason, we are unable to arrange taxis at any time of day. Thank you for your understanding.

Is breakfast available? What's on the menu?
Yes.
From 6:30 AM to 10:00 AM, a Japanese-Western buffet breakfast is served at the 1F restaurant. No reservation required.

How can I store valuables?
Please use the in-room safe. We can also store items at the front desk.
Are wheelchairs available for loan?
Yes. Please ask at the front desk.
Please note that loaned wheelchairs may only be used within the hotel.

Yes. There is bicycle parking on the premises.
The covered area can accommodate up to 18 bicycles and 3–4 small motorbikes.
It is free for hotel guests.

Is there a convenience store nearby?
The nearest convenience stores are LAWSON to the left and 7-Eleven to the right of the hotel's main entrance.

Conference

How far in advance can I book?
Bookings for meetings and banquets are accepted from 6 months in advance, and 12 months in advance when combined with accommodation.
Can I visit the venue in advance?
Yes, this is possible.
Depending on the booking situation, we may not be able to show your preferred venue, so please let us know your visit date and time in advance.
Can I get a quote?
Yes, free of charge. Please ask our staff.
Do you accept credit cards?
We accept VISA, Mastercard, JCB, AMEX (American Express), Diners Club, and UnionPay.
Is smoking allowed?
All venues (Conference Rooms A & B and the Restaurant venue) are non-smoking. Please use the smoking area on 1F of the West Wing.

Best Rate

Why is the official website cheaper?
Because the official website "guarantees" the "Best Rate".
A rate booked over the phone is being offered cheaper.
The Best Rate Guarantee applies to bookings made on websites, so phone-only rates are not eligible.
A travel agency's brochure rate is cheaper.
Travel agency products (brochures and websites) are sold at prices that the hotel cannot control, so they are not eligible.
I booked one night from a certain date, but another booking site's "consecutive-night plan" is cheaper for that date.
Rates conditioned on consecutive nights are eligible only when the same stay dates (arrival and departure) match.
Day A and Day B are both weekdays, yet Day B is being sold at a cheaper rate.
Eligibility is limited to the same date.
A cheaper rate is offered on an overseas hotel booking site.
Overseas hotel booking sites are not eligible.
